President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) spoke for the first time about the crisis involving ministers of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and the investigations into Banco Master. In a post on Wednesday (9), Lula defended the complete lifting of secrecy of the investigations and stated that everyone involved in the case must be investigated, regardless of who they are.
According to the president, the gravity of the case demands "explanations and immediate measures" to address the institutional crisis in the Judiciary. Lula also criticized what he called "selective leaks" of the investigations and defended more transparency in the disclosure of information about the case.
"For this reason, the complete lifting of secrecy of the investigations of everyone involved in the Master case is urgent, whoever it may be, cost what it may. Brazil needs to know the truth," the president stated in his post.
In the same post, Lula cited Operation Spoofing as a reference, an operation that investigated the hacking of officials' cell phones and had information made public during another administration.
