Supreme Federal Court (STF) President Edson Fachin cancelled the plenary session scheduled for 2 PM this Wednesday. The reason for the cancellation was not disclosed. The suspension of proceedings occurs amid an institutional crisis at the Court, which directly involves ministersFlávio Dino, Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça. There had been expectations that the session could be marked by statements from the ministers regarding the impasse at the Tribunal and the dispute over command of the Federal Police.
On Tuesday, Mendonça ordered the removal of PF Director-General Andrei Rodrigues and Intelligence Director Leandro Almada. The decision came after the lifting of secrecy the previous week on Federal Police reports that exposed a clash between Moraes and Mendonça. However, on Wednesday morning, Dino suspended his colleague's decision in another case pending at the STF and ordered the reintegration of Rodrigues and Almada to their positions.
