Slow march in Funchal marks one year of 'blockade' on new TVDE [transport vehicles]

dnoticias.pt9 September 2026 at 13:21

TVDE drivers in Madeira are organizing a 'peaceful car ride' through the streets of Funchal for next Saturday at 5:00 PM, thus marking one year since the issuance of new licenses for this activity has been blocked in the Region. The initiative was announced through a press release and is promoted by a civic movement that calls itself 'candidates and TVDE drivers of Madeira.'

The protest consists of a car parade that will circulate at reduced speed, between 25 to 30 kilometers per hour, and will travel through the streets of the city passing by institutions. The objective is to draw attention to what the professionals consider to be an administrative blockade on TVDE activity in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
