The Brotherhood of Lapa announced that D. Pedro IV's heart will be on public display during the 25th, 26th and 27th. This reliquary had been kept for almost two centuries and will be presented to visitors during this limited period.

D. Pedro IV was the monarch who guaranteed Brazil's independence, having played a fundamental role in the country's separation from Portugal. His connection to mainland Portuguese territory is also linked to his participation in the Siege of Porto.

The display of the former Brazilian emperor's heart represents a rare event, considering the length of time this relic remained stored. The organization by the Brotherhood of Lapa allows citizens and visitors to Porto access to this historical piece during the mentioned days.
