SC Vianense presented on Tuesday, the 8th, its billiards team for the new sports season, at a ceremony held in the Noble Hall of the club's headquarters. The squad is composed of Vânia Franco, Sara Rocha, and Ana Oliveira, three athletes who represent the national team, which gives the team an elite status.
The signings of Sara Rocha and Ana Oliveira reinforce and raise the ambitions of the club's billiards section. President Rui Pedro Silva stated that this season marks a decisive step, highlighting that besides the individual aspect, they will have an extremely strong team competing for SC Vianense, with the goal of competing for the top positions in national and regional competitions.
Vânia Franco, who has represented the club for four years, expressed pride in continuing to represent SC Vianense and welcomed the new teammates. Sara Rocha considered it an honor to play for a historic club like Vianense, while Ana Oliveira expressed gratitude for joining a project she described as ambitious.
The ceremony also served to promote the practice of billiards and present the objectives of the club's School. Rui Pedro Silva highlighted that SC Vianense has all the necessary human, technical, and infrastructural conditions to teach and grow the sport, keeping its doors open to all young people and interested parties who wish to start playing billiards.
