Rodrigo Pereira is returning to Vitória Sport Clube, in Guimarães, four years after leaving the club in 2022. The player originally from Viana do Castelo, who trained at VC Viana, initially arrived at Vitória in 2018 and represented the Conquistadores for four seasons, between 2018 and 2022, during an important period of his sporting career.
After leaving Vitória in 2022, Rodrigo Pereira returned to VC Viana, where he stayed for three seasons. Last season, he transferred to Leixões SC, in Matosinhos, where he finished the season with 262 points in 31 games. During this period, the player also represented the Portuguese national team at the 2026 Mediterranean Games, gaining international experience.
The return to Guimarães is described by the player as the fulfillment of a promise he made to himself when he left the club. Rodrigo Pereira explained that his departure in 2022 was aimed at gaining more experience and minutes of play, but that he always maintained the desire to return. "I always said I wanted to return to Guimarães, whether at the end of my career or in the middle didn't matter. This is also my home," he stated.
For the 2026/27 season, Rodrigo Pereira promises a lot of grit and dedication, highlighting that it is a pleasure to reunite with former teammates and familiar faces in national volleyball. The Portuguese international sees the return to Vitória as an important new stage in his career.
