The Public Prosecutor's Office of Gondomar requested and obtained the preventive detention of a man suspected of domestic violence against his partner. The decision was made within the framework of a criminal case that is under investigation.
The suspect had previously been convicted for crimes of the same type, that is, domestic violence. In addition, he also served a prison sentence for drug trafficking.
The authorities considered that there was sufficient evidence to justify the most severe coercive measure, ordering the preventive detention of the defendant.
The man was thus obligated to remain in detention while the process unfolds, being unable to benefit from alternative custody measures.
