The seventeenth stage of the 2026 Vuelta a España was contested on a Wednesday between the towns of Dos Hermanas and Seville, with a route of 185 kilometers.
The stage was completely flat, without any mountainous or technical difficulties, offering one of the last opportunities for the sprinters in the pack to show their skills before the end of the race.
British rider Matthew Brennan emerged as one of the favorites for this stage, possibly achieving his fifth victory in the Spanish competition.
The journey represented a decisive moment for the sprinters, who had few remaining occasions to add stage victories before the conclusion of the Vuelta a España.
