Portuguese savers invest more than one million euros per day in public debt through the CTT App

Jornal Económico9 September 2026 at 12:04

Portuguese savers invested an average of 1.1 million euros per day in public debt through the CTT App during the month of August, breaking the record for applications since the launch of the digital service. In total, more than 23.4 million euros were invested in Savings Certificates and Treasury Certificates through the app, a value 3% higher than that recorded in July.

The performance was driven by the entry into force of the new series of Treasury Certificates and the adhesion to the Digital Savings functionality, made available by CTT since July 2024. Since the launch of this service, customers have invested close to 325 million euros through the CTT App, reinforcing the weight of digital channels in savings management.

Through the app, customers can subscribe to Savings Certificates and Treasury Certificates, making additional investments, viewing transactions and simulating the potential return on their investments. Savings Certificates allow an initial subscription starting from 100 euros and additional investments from 10 euros, while Treasury Certificates, aimed at longer-term savings objectives, can be subscribed starting from 1,000 euros.

CTT is a logistics and e-commerce operator with activities in the areas of E-commerce Solutions, Mail and Financial Services, also having a presence in the banking sector through Banco CTT. The company employs 14,048 people and has 563 stores in Portugal.
