Niterói em Cena — International Theater Festival is holding its 19th edition between the 11th and 27th of this month, bringing together productions from seven countries, including Senegal, Peru, Angola, Georgia, and different regions of Brazil. The event occupies theaters, cultural centers, and public spaces throughout the city with free programming.
The festival's opening takes place on Friday (11), at 8 PM, at the Theatro Municipal de Niterói. Actor Paulo Betti will be responsible for presenting the monologue "Authorized Autobiography" at the Showcases, the opening ceremony of the event.
Paulo Betti's play has been on tour for ten years and aims to value and encourage people to write down their personal stories, promoting an exercise in memory. The actor himself stated that he is honored and eager to present the play in Niterói, a city he declared he loves.
This year's edition offers a diverse overview of international and national theatrical production, bringing performances to various spaces throughout the city during the nearly three weeks of the festival.
