The Civil Police arrested Anderson Rodrigues Leite, suspected of attempting to kidnap a 16-year-old teenager on the 4th of this month, in Engenho Novo, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. On that occasion, the victim had to jump from the suspect's vehicle while it was in motion, managing to escape the crime.
The arrest mobilized teams from the 23rd Police Station (Méier), the 44th Police Station (Inhaúma), and the Anti-Kidnapping Division (DAS). Initially, the agents managed to locate the suspect's car abandoned in a parking lot in Irajá, also in the North Zone of the state capital.
The vehicle's license plate was identified by Civitas Rio from images recorded during the crime. With this information, the authorities managed to track the suspect, who was located in São Pedro D'Aldeia, in the Lagos Region of Rio.
