Intense squabble between Yolanda Díaz and a PP deputy over Ceuta

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General9 September 2026 at 11:30

The PP today called the second vice president of the Spanish Government a "coward" for not showing her true opinion on Morocco's role in the Ceuta crisis, holding her and the rest of the executive responsible for the 141 migrant deaths and the 23 sexual assaults confirmed by the Prosecutor's Office of the autonomous city.

The Popular Party deputy Sofía Acedo insisted that what is happening in Ceuta is not a humanitarian crisis, but rather an "invasion", while Yolanda Díaz assured that migrants "come to Spain because they are hungry and have reasons".

Yolanda Díaz accused the PP of calling children "invaders" and of governing with those who say "let's hunt them one by one", referring to "a" (them) and classifying them as "hatred arsonists", doing whatever it takes for a handful of votes.

The first vice president proposed to the PP that they get to work with Minister Sira Rego to bring the minors to safety.
