Google to invest 13 billion euros in data centers

Observador9 September 2026 at 11:36

Google is to invest 13 billion euros in data centers, a significant value that reflects the growing commitment of major technology companies to expanding their digital infrastructure.

Finland has been a privileged destination for these investments. The country offers favorable conditions, namely relatively low electricity prices and a cold climate, which helps reduce the cooling costs of the servers.

As a result, the number of data centers in Finland has increased considerably in recent years. Currently, dozens of projects are under construction in the Nordic country, consolidating its position as an important hub for the technology industry.

The deadline for considering a payment overdue has been reduced. Find out what changes

An amendment to the Law on Commitments and Late Payments came into force in Portugal, significantly reducing the deadline for considering a payment overdue. Previously, invoices were considered overdue after 90 days; now, the deadline has been reduced to 30 days (or 60 days in the case of public health entities) from the date of receipt of the invoice or provision of services. From these new deadlines, creditors are automatically entitled to default interest, without the need for formal notice, with the interest rate being defined by the Commercial Code. The amendments also include new rules for available funds derived from programs financed by European funds, changing the way available funds are calculated at very short term.
