Physiotherapy Days in the Algarve Address Multidimensional Pain Management

Barlavento9 September 2026 at 11:06

The I Physiotherapy Days of ULS Algarve are taking place in the Algarve region, marking the first edition of this event dedicated to the field of physiotherapy. The meeting is promoted by the Local Health Unit (ULS) of the Algarve.

The main objective of the event is the scientific update of professionals in the area, providing a space for interdisciplinary discussion on topics relevant to clinical practice in physiotherapy.

Pain management constitutes the central theme of these days, being approached from a multidimensional perspective that recognizes the various dimensions involved in patients' painful experience. This approach reflects the growing understanding that pain requires a comprehensive and integrated intervention.

The content of the days is available in the Barlavento publication, which reported on the event dedicated to promoting scientific knowledge in the field of physiotherapy in the context of the Algarve regional health system.

BepiColombo bids farewell to the module that carried it to Mercury and enters the final stretch of its journey

The BepiColombo spacecraft successfully separated from the transfer module that propelled it during eight years of travel toward Mercury. The separation occurred at approximately 200 million kilometres from Earth, when the spacecraft was already "close" to the smallest planet in the Solar System. The transfer module, which served simultaneously as engine and power source, is now alone in an orbit around the Sun, while BepiColombo continues toward the final phase of its mission, destined to study Mercury in detail for the first time in history.
