The I Angolan Fair was held, an event aimed at bringing communities between Angola and Portugal together, described as "sister countries." The initiative sought to promote meetings between people and value cultural diversity.
The Consul General of Angola in Porto and Northern Portugal, Dulce Gomes, was present and praised the initiative. According to the consul, the event allowed Angolans from different regions of Angola to interact and constituted an opportunity to promote Angolan culture, traditions and gastronomy.
The diplomat stated that there is a large community of Angolan emigrants in Portugal who left their country of origin to find opportunities, and that this community has been growing.
Dulce Gomes added that the consulate has encouraged the Angolan community to create associations, which can help resolve problems and organize events such as this one. The consul emphasized that the Angolan community does not like to live in isolation and enjoys socializing and meeting new people.
