Businessman Cláudio Rafael Landeiro Moreira, 37 years old, was beaten and killed on August 12 between Barata Ribeiro and Felipe de Oliveira streets, in Copacabana, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The crime was caught on security cameras and also recorded on video by the aggressors themselves.

Thirteen suspects were indicted for Cláudio's death and will answer for triple-qualified homicide. The first of the qualifying factors is the futile motive, highlighted by delegate Angelo Lages, head of the 12th Police Station (Copacabana), responsible for the investigation.

According to the police report, the death was caused by a dispute involving an old, worn and rusty bicycle, of very low commercial value. The delegate noted that the ownership of the vehicle had not even been clarified at the time of the crime.

The bicycle belonged to the victim's sister, Nathalia. The case generated great repercussion due to the severity of the aggression and the fact that the suspects had recorded the crime itself.
