New hydrogel can release chemotherapy directly into tumors for weeks

Researchers from Vall d'Hebron developed an injectable hydrogel based on cellulose and chitosan that allows localized and sustained release of chemotherapy. In pre-clinical studies, the system demonstrated activity against ovarian cancer and glioblastoma models.
