Two paintings valued at 9 million euros were stolen from the Renoir Museum, located in the south of France. The theft represents a significant loss both in financial and cultural terms.
The identity of the thieves and the methods used in the robbery have not yet been revealed. French authorities have already initiated investigations to recover the artworks.
This theft joins a series of art thefts of high value that have been occurring in European museums in recent years, raising questions about the security of these cultural institutions.
