Rio de Janeiro City Hall launched "Rio Art Week," an initiative that brings together more than ten festivals and cultural projects in an integrated programming between September 16 and 27 in the city's downtown area. The calendar includes exhibitions, urban interventions, and activities in museums, theaters, cultural centers, galleries, and other public and private spaces.

The first edition already has ten confirmed events: Flup (Peripheral Literary Festival), Panorama Festival, Aquarius, ARUA Summit 2026, 7th International Circus Festival, Zózimo Bulbul Black Cinema Meeting, Mimo Festival, ArtRIO, Open Doors Art, and CasaCor.

According to the City Hall, the proposal is to bring together cultural initiatives already held in the city during the same period, expanding the circulation of artists and audiences and concentrating activities in the downtown area.

During the launch, two new cultural funding notices were also presented. The notice "Local Actions – Continued Projects" will support Culture Points with permanent activities in their territories. The notice "Cultural Mediation and Audience Development" will select two Culture Hubs to develop actions focused on audience development and the circulation of students and communities in public and private cultural facilities.
