A 37-year-old man was stabbed to death during an argument at a seasonal workers' dormitory in Patos de Minas, in the Alto Paranaíba region of Minas Gerais. The fight began after he took a piece of meat from a coworker's lunchbox and made a joke about it, according to the state Military Police.
The crime occurred on Sunday night (6), at a house on Rua Joana D'Arc, in the Aurélio Caixeta neighborhood. The property served as a dormitory for seasonal workers and housed approximately 14 men, nine of whom were present at the time of the argument.
According to accounts recorded by the Military Police, both the victim and the suspect, 29 years old, had spent the day together drinking alcohol. A witness stated that the two had a friendly relationship, but the moment of the food joke apparently triggered the argument that ended in death.
