Five people died when a BO-105 helicopter crashed at a remote airfield in the interior of the Malaysian state of Sarawak, on the northwest coast of Borneo. The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon, about 315 kilometers from the city of Miri. The helicopter was operated by the country's Air Medical Service.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department and the Ministry of Health, all five people on board died. The information was confirmed by Galong Luang, president of the Miri disaster management council, in an official statement.

Among the dead are the pilot, a doctor, a medical assistant and two nurses, according to local media reports. Images of the accident circulated on social media showing the moment the helicopter crashed.
