The apparent need for charging infrastructure to boost electric vehicle adoption is not necessarily confirmed in Spanish data. The electrification map in Spain shows that the relationship between the number of chargers and electric vehicle purchases does not always work as expected. Regions with fewer charging stations are leading electric car sales, while areas with greater infrastructure do not necessarily guarantee more purchases. Having a more extensive network of charging points does not guarantee that drivers will buy more electric vehicles. Similarly, a territory with a smaller network does not necessarily mean that electric vehicle registrations are held back in that region.
