DEC Portugal wants to make experience a management discipline

SAPO Notícias9 September 2026 at 06:37

DEC Portugal, a new association, has as its main objective positioning experience as a management discipline in organizations. In an interview with +M, president Gustavo Barreto presented the association's objectives and goals to achieve this vision.

Gustavo Barreto, president of DEC Portugal, argues that both customer experience (CX) and employee experience (EX) should be at the center of companies' strategy. The association believes these areas should no longer be seen as operational issues and should instead be treated as strategic management issues.

The creation of DEC Portugal comes in a context where organizations face growing challenges related to customer loyalty and talent retention. The association aims to be a reference in promoting these practices in Portugal.
