PS secretary-general José Luís Carneiro announced today in Palmela that the Socialist Party will impose four conditions on the Government to make the State Budget for 2027 viable. The objective, according to the socialist leader, is to guarantee the country's political stability.
José Luís Carneiro stated that Prime Minister Luís Montenegro will have to guarantee at least three of these conditions. First, there can be no constitutional changes without agreement between PS and PSD. Second, pensions will not be altered. Third, the Executive will have to clarify the financing of investments and the support related to the storms.
The article does not present the fourth condition mentioned by José Luís Carneiro. These conditions arise in a context of budgetary negotiations between the Socialist Party and the Social Democratic Party, the two main parties in the country, aiming to reach a consensus that allows the approval of the State Budget for 2027.
