Minister Luís Neves responded to deputies in the Assembly of the Republic regarding the detection of a boat off Sesimbra. However, he ruled out the hypothesis that an illegal landing of migrants had occurred in that area.

Luís Neves stated that the detected boat may have been used as a support vessel for human trafficking networks. This statement was made in the context of questions from political parties about the migratory situation on the Portuguese coast.

The official thus reported to the deputies on the surveillance and maritime enforcement operations that allowed the vessel to be detected in the Sesimbra region.
