The European League Associations have expanded a complaint filed with the European Commission, now directed at women's football. This decision comes in the context of a broader dispute between the leagues and FIFA.
The European leagues accuse FIFA of abusive conduct and conflicts of interest in the management of the international football calendar. This complaint had already been filed previously, but has now been expanded.
The conflict mainly concerns the overload of matches imposed on players, resulting from the expansion of international competitions decided by FIFA. The leagues argue that they were not sufficiently consulted about these decisions.
