Adel Taarabt officially announced the end of his football career. The 35-year-old player, who had not been playing professionally since 2023, decided to retire from the sport he practiced throughout his life.
The farewell messages did not wait and came quickly from former teammates. The first to respond publicly was João Félix, who shared words of recognition and appreciation for the former teammate at Benfica.
Taarabt played for Benfica between 2010 and 2013, having made 132 appearances for the club and scored 27 goals. During that period, he won the Portuguese League in 2009/10, the first season he arrived at the Luz, although he was used only once in that title.
