Douglas Ruas, candidate for governor of Rio by the PL party, was interviewed on Tuesday (8th) by the media outlets GLOBO, Extra, Valor, and CBN. The interview was conducted by CBN Rio presenters Bianca Santos and Leandro Resende, by the political editor of GLOBO and Extra newspapers Thiago Prado, by columnist Bernardo Mello Franco, and by Francisco Góes, head of the Valor bureau in Rio. The program started at 10:30 a.m. and lasted an hour and a half.
During the interview, Douglas Ruas downplayed the loss of support from mayors to opponent Eduardo Paes, stating that he did not accept being a candidate counting on that support. He also tried to distance himself from Castro and Bacellar, figures from the same party, and associated Paes with people involved in crime.
Regarding the suspicions that arose during his management at a state secretariat, Ruas stated that it is not the manager's responsibility to know where the supplies were purchased. This topic generated questions from the interviewers during the interview.
The interview programming continues on Wednesday with William Siri (PSOL), followed by Garotinho (Republicanos) on Thursday and Eduardo Paes (PSD) on Friday, each interview lasting an hour and a half.
