The lawyers of military police officer Vinícius Gosta Silva, arrested on Monday (8) on suspicion of involvement in the death of his wife, Larissa da Cruz Morata, 29, presented to the police station responsible for the investigation screenshots and audio recordings that the woman allegedly sent to the police officer's sister. The defense seeks to support the version that the case was a suicide.
The crime occurred last Sunday (6), in the city of Embu das Artes, in Greater São Paulo. Larissa was found with a gunshot wound to the head inside the house, and the police officer's weapon was under the woman's body.
On Tuesday, the delegate responsible for the case stated that the trajectory of the bullet that struck Larissa's body supported the husband's arrest warrant. Vinícius gave testimony and stated that Larissa committed suicide.
The victim's relatives contest the suicide version. According to them, Larissa had never manifested depressive tendencies or suicidal thoughts. O GLOBO reached out to the Public Security Secretariat for comment but was still awaiting a response.
