The Socialist Party imposed four conditions on the Government to enable the approval of the State Budget for 2027. José Luís Carneiro, PS leader, demanded clear guarantees from Montenegro's executive in four distinct areas for the socialists to consider supporting the document.
The four conditions placed focus on the need for guarantees about constitutional amendments, issues related to pensions, investment financing, and support for victims of the February storms. These points are considered essential by the PS to negotiate the Budget's approval.
José Luís Carneiro warned that, without clear and concrete commitments from Luís Montenegro, the socialists will not be available to guarantee the approval of the State Budget. This position places pressure on the Government to advance with substantial negotiations before the document's vote.
