Duplication of the road to Calheta will be the second largest project of the next decade

The duplication of the expressway between Ribeira Brava and Calheta will be the second largest project of the next decade in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, right after the construction of the new Central and University Hospital. The statement was made by Pedro Rodrigues, regional secretary of Equipment and Infrastructure, during the solemn session commemorating the 525 years of Ponta do Sol. The official emphasized that this road intervention represents an investment of high importance for the region. The event was attended by several councilors, namely Doroteia Leça, president of the Municipal Council of Calheta, and Jorge Santos, president of the Municipal Council of Ribeira Brava, the two municipalities that will be directly benefited by this project.
