The municipality of Barcelos has 22,612 students enrolled in the 2026/2027 school year, covering all levels of education from nursery to higher education. The students are distributed across a network of 209 educational establishments.
The data was presented by the mayor of Barcelos, Mário Constantino Lopes, during the opening session of the seminar "Educamos Juntos" (We Educate Together), which marked the beginning of the new school year in the municipality.
The municipal investment in the area of Education amounts to 46 million euros, demonstrating the municipality's significant commitment to the education sector.
