Norwegian striker Erling Haaland was the protagonist of the game, scoring the two goals that secured victory for the English side. The first came at the 47th minute and the second at 90+1 minutes, sealing a final score of 2-0.
Manchester City, the English vice-champions, traveled to the Dragão for this group stage match of the competition. Pep Guardiola's side thus secured the three points in the first matchday of this edition of the Champions League.
