SAPO Notícias8 September 2026 at 21:32

Rui Marques took office as Mayor and considered this a "year zero", signaling a new phase of local government. The mayor presented a set of priorities that he considers essential for the development of the municipality during his term.

Among the main demands presented to the Government, Rui Marques advocates for the construction of a new school in the municipality. This demand arises within a broader set of needs regarding educational infrastructure that the president considers a priority.

The mayor also requested a road connection to the intermediate areas of the municipality, responding to longstanding demands from local populations. This infrastructure project aims to improve mobility and access to various localities that currently lack adequate accessibility.

Additionally, Rui Marques demanded a solution for Lugar de Baixo and interventions on the straight of Canhas, two areas that have been identified as requiring special attention from the competent authorities.
