In São Paulo, candidates Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Jair Bolsonaro (PL) appear technically tied in the first round of the election, according to a Quaest poll commissioned by TV Globo and published on Tuesday (8). The PL candidate scores 31% of the vote intentions, while the Workers' Party candidate appears with 30%, a difference within the poll's margin of error.
The survey was conducted less than a month before the election and shows Augusto Cury (Avante) in third place with 8%, followed by Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) with 4%, Renan Santos (Missão) with 2%, and Romeu Zema (Novo) with 1%. Samara Martins (UP) also appears with 1% of the vote intentions.
The poll also presents an alternative scenario that includes Pablo Marçal (PRTB), who registered a candidacy but is ineligible. In that scenario, Marçal scores 4%, Cury has 7%, Caiado 3%, and the other candidates maintain or slightly reduce their percentages. Five candidates did not score in any scenario.
Candidates Edimilson Costa (PCB), Clariana Barão (DC), Hertz Dias (PSTU), Rui Costa Pimenta (PCO) and Veterinarian Wilson Grassi (Democrata) did not obtain vote intention in any of the scenarios presented by the poll.
