Quaest: poll shows Benedita leading Senate race in Rio with 15% of voting intentions

Released this Tuesday, the new Quaest poll for Senate candidates in Rio de Janeiro shows former Governor Benedita da Silva (PT) leading with 15% of voting intentions. The margin of error is three percentage points. This is the second Quaest poll after the start of the official campaign.

The PT candidate is ahead of opponents such as former Mayor Marcelo Crivella (Republicanos), with 8%, while Carlos Jordy (PL), Pedro Paulo (PSD), and Carlos Portinho (PL) are tied at 6%. Monica Benício (PSOL) registers 4% of voting intentions, while Waguinho (Republicanos) has 2%.

When asked about the order of voting, 23% of the electorate responded that they will choose Benedita as their first vote, while 11% said their choice will be for Crivella. Jordy was cited by 8%, Pedro Paulo by 6%, and Waguinho by 5%.
