PS demands certainty about Via Expresso and new police station

SAPO Notícias8 September 2026 at 20:49

Sidónio Pestana, representative of the Socialist Party, demanded certainty from the Regional Government about the Via Expresso road between the town of Ponta do Sol and Canhas, stating that the population deserves more than repeated announcements over the years. The politician considered this road among the main priorities of the municipality.

The demand was made during the solemn session commemorating the 525th anniversary of the municipality of Ponta do Sol, held in Canhas. Sidónio Pestana called for the public presentation of the project, the route, and the timeline of the intervention.

The Via Expresso project in this area has been announced at least since 2009, without any concrete results having been presented. "After so many years, the population has the right to more than announcements. They have the right to certainty," stated the Socialist representative.
