The new PISA report paints a detailed picture of Portuguese school reality, revealing both challenges and strengths. Among the identified problems are the lack of auxiliary staff in schools, the regular use of artificial intelligence by students, less parental involvement, and an increase in late arrivals to class.
However, the report also presents positive data. Portuguese students show lower levels of absences and bullying when compared to the average of OECD countries, which constitutes a favorable aspect in the national educational landscape.
The relationship between students and teachers emerges as one of the main strengths of the Portuguese education system, standing out as an added value that differentiates Portuguese schools in the international context.
This report follows previous PISA results, which regularly assesses the knowledge and skills of 15-year-old students in mathematics, reading, and science, allowing comparisons between countries and the identification of areas that need intervention.
