The President of the Republic, António José Seguro, congratulated Madalena Costa on winning the European Champion title in free skating in the seniors category. The competition took place in Ponte di Legno, in Italy, as part of the European Artistic Skating Championship.

The Madeiran skater began by winning the short program and was again the best in the long program, thus guaranteeing the Gold Medal. With this victory, she retained the European title she had won in 2025, in Trieste.

This achievement represents Madalena Costa's fifth consecutive European title, being the second won in the highest seniors category. The President of the Republic publicly expressed his satisfaction and recognition for the extraordinary accomplishments of the Portuguese athlete.
