The Moroccan footballer Adel Taarabt announced the end of his career at 37, through a thank you message on social media. The player reflected on his journey in professional football, acknowledging both the good and difficult moments, mistakes and great nights he experienced throughout his career.
Taarabt represented Benfica between the 2015/16 and 2021/22 seasons. During his time at the Portuguese club, the midfielder was loaned twice to Genoa, the Italian club for which he became Serie B champion.
In his farewell message, the player stated: "There were good moments, difficult moments, mistakes, great nights... all of it. But it was my journey and I would not change it", showing acceptance and satisfaction with the path he followed over two decades in professional football.
