The motion of no confidence against the Government presented by the CHEGA party was rejected in the Assembly of the Republic. As was already expected, all parties with parliamentary seats voted against the motion, as the far-right party failed to convince the remaining deputies.
Only CHEGA voted in favor of the motion of no confidence. On the other hand, AD, PAN, LIVRE and Iniciativa Liberal chose to vote against the document presented by the party.
As for the left-wing parties, PCP, PS, JPP and BE preferred to abstain from the vote, neither accompanying CHEGA in approving the motion, nor the executive in its defense.
With this result, the minority Government led by Luís Montenegro manages to survive the first motion of no confidence presented in the current legislative elections, thus remaining in power.
