Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Colombia as part of a regional tour that also includes Ecuador and Peru. What the three countries have in common is their status as allies of the Donald Trump administration. Colombia is the first of them that promises, from this visit, to become one of the great strategic partners of Washington. The far-right president, Abelardo de la Espriella, has been in office for just over a month and has already given clear indications of his willingness to coordinate bilateral actions at all levels.
