King Felipe VI held this Monday a meeting with the Defense Minister, Margarita Robles, and the military top brass to analyze the situation in Ceuta from the Defense perspective. The meeting took place at a time of intense political controversy regarding the Spanish Government's management.
Participating in the meeting were the Chief of Defense Staff (JEMAD), Admiral-General Teodoro Esteban López Calderón, the Commander General of Ceuta, Major General Luis Jesús Fernández Herrero, and officials from the Spanish operational commands.
The Royal Household informed through social media on Tuesday night that the objective of the meeting was to examine the situation in the autonomous city of Ceuta from the Defense perspective. This type of meeting between the Crown, the Ministry of Defense, and the military command structure indicates the gravity that the executive attributes to the events in Ceuta.
