The researchers Marco Freitas and Joana Santos, affiliated with the Center for Modern Archaeology Studies (CEAM), participated during the month of August in an international maritime archaeology campaign. This campaign took place on the island of Aegina, in Greece, and aimed to study remains of the ancient port complex of that city. The two Madeira researchers thus joined an international cooperation project that brought together specialists from different countries in a joint expedition. This participation demonstrates the involvement of Madeira academics in archaeological research projects of international recognition, contributing to the study of Greek underwater heritage.
