Rejected. Chega's motion of censure gave way to tax relief and extraordinary supplement for pensioners

Parliament rejected the motion of censure presented by Chega against the Government of Luís Montenegro, with the abstention of PS, BE and PCP and the votes against from PSD, CDS-PP, IL, Livre and PAN. The debate was marked by André Ventura's criticisms of the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, and by the announcement of two measures by the prime minister: a 400 million euro tax relief with IRS reduction up to the sixth bracket and an extraordinary supplement for pensioners with pensions up to 1,611 euros, totaling 800 million euros in measures. José Luís Carneiro justified PS's abstention stating that Portuguese people do not want a political crisis, while Montenegro fiercely defended Luís Neves, considering him an "excellent minister". Paulo Rangel ended the debate questioning Chega about its alignment with NATO and the European Union.

GNR dismissed hit-and-run hypothesis in immigrant's death but PJ refused to investigate

Two PSP agents began being tried at the Faro Court for allegedly having kidnapped and killed a Moroccan man, in a case that involves suspicions that the GNR dismissed the hit-and-run hypothesis in the victim's death and that the PJ refused to investigate the matter, raising questions about the progress of the case and the authorities' actions. The trial began this Tuesday with the reading of the indictment, in a process that promises to reveal details about the circumstances that led to the immigrant's death and about the alleged complicity of the two police officers in the facts.
