Federal Police Director-General Andrei Rodrigues decided not to participate in the opening of a PF agent training course following a decision by Supreme Federal Court Minister André Mendonça to remove him from his position. Andrei learned of the decision while already at the event venue, which was scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
In Andrei's place, Executive Director William Murad spoke in defense of the corporation and the removed chief. Murad stated that the PF will not be shaken by attacks and reaffirmed total confidence in the director-general, saying that the moment requires serenity and that the institution will know how to navigate this situation.
Behind the scenes, the Federal Police leadership reacted with indignation and outrage at Mendonça's decision. The minister already has a majority in his favor in the Supreme Court's Second Chamber to maintain the removal.
However, Minister Gilmar Mendes requested a recess and interrupted the trial on the case. The article was interrupted before providing more details about this interruption.
