PSD Algarve called on the people of the Algarve to participate in the public consultation regarding the Foupana Dam project, which runs until October 12. The social-democratic regional structure argues that the infrastructure is essential to strengthen the region's water security, being a project embraced by the Government and integrated into the water management strategy for the Algarve.
The president of PSD Algarve, Cristóvão Norte, considered that the future dam could have a particularly relevant impact on agricultural activity, especially in Central Algarve, providing greater security to those who produce, invest and create jobs.
Cristóvão Norte recalled that over the years he has repeatedly brought the problem of water scarcity in the Algarve and the need to advance with structural solutions to Parliament, criticizing previous Government responses that, according to him, devalued the issue. The leader also highlighted the decisive role of José Macário Correia in defending this solution.
PSD Algarve is now calling for the mobilization of the population to submit contributions through the Participa platform until the end of the public consultation.
