The leadership of the Federal Police received with indignation and outrage the decision by Justice André Mendonça of the Supreme Federal Court to remove the director-general of the corporation, Andrei Rodrigues, classifying the decision as political. The STF already has a majority to confirm Andrei Rodrigues' removal, although Justice Gilmar Mendes has requested a recess, pausing the judgment.
Andrei Rodrigues was preparing to participate in the opening of the new PF agent training course when he was informed of his removal. The director-general was going to give a speech to the new members of the corporation, but ended up letting executive director William Murad participate in the event in his place.
Murad used the ceremony to send messages to Mendonça. Without directly mentioning the justice, the number 2 of the PF stated that it is the technical, impartial, and free of any political bias performance of the corporation that allows defending the institution from any attack, saying that "no matter where the attacks come from, knowing that the PF works strictly within the law and committed exclusively to the public interest maintains the confidence that the truth will prevail."
