The higher education subsystem in Angola made available 283,500 vacancies for the academic year 2026-27, representing 50,000 fewer vacancies compared to the previous year. Eugénio Alves da Silva, Secretary of State for Higher Education, announced that classes will begin on October 5th.
According to the official, of the 283,500 authorized vacancies, only 21,700 are for public higher education institutions. The remaining available vacancies are destined for private higher education institutions.
The statements were made by the Secretary of State to Rádio Nacional de Angola, where he explained the details about the distribution of vacancies for the new academic year. The reduction in the number of vacancies made available contrasts with the demand for higher education in the country.
