Tourism industry pressures EU after EES failure and border chaos fears

The tourism industry is pressuring the European Union after the failure of the Entry/Exit System (EES), which aims to automatically register third-country travelers at the bloc's external borders. The system, which has been the subject of criticism, came under pressure again after emergency measures expired. Major tour operators warned of the risk of long queues at border controls and the possibility of missed flights. The EES, which was supposed to simplify and modernize controls at European borders, faced technical and implementation problems since its launch, generating concern among sector professionals who depend on efficient travel.

Sensory garden at IPO Coimbra with help coming from the air

Charity Flyers, a group of private pilots linked to Rotary, will land at Bissaya Barreto aerodrome in Cernache on September 15th to support the creation of a Sensory Garden at IPO Coimbra. The project, developed in partnership with Rotary Club Coimbra-Saúde and Instituto Português de Oncologia, aims to humanize healthcare by providing cancer patients and their families with a therapeutic space of tranquility with visual, olfactory, tactile, and sonic sensory stimuli. The garden will be designed with specialists from the University of Coimbra Botanical Garden and funded through donations from Charity Flyers, the Rotary Club, and the general public.
